We need the bees!

Updated: Jun 6, 2018

Can you imagine a world without honey? Scary isn't it... well it's much scarier than you think. What about a world without onions, tomatoes, and so many other vegetables and fruits? That would be a world without honey bees.

According to the American Beekeeping Federation, approximately one third of all the food Americans eat is directly or indirectly derived from honey bee pollination. That's a lot of food, and a lot of money. Bees are a key part of producing our food supply. Those little insects are pretty important! The article below will provide you with some ways to keep the honey bees near you happy. And we need happy bees.

By educating people about beekeeping and pollinator-friendly gardening techniques, the Laurens County Beekeeping Association hopes to improve the number of bee pollinators.

And don't worry, we do still live in a world full of honey! Check out the Buy Locally tab to get some today.
