Laurens County Volunteer Named SC Farm Bureau All-Star



Laurens County Farm Bureau volunteer leader Marilyn Easter (center) was recently named South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation 2018 Government Relations All-Star during the organization’s 75th Annual Convention at Myrtle Beach.

Myrtle Beach, SC – Volunteer leader Marilyn Easter of Laurens County was recently named a South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation 2018 Government Relations All-Star. The award was presented recently at Myrtle Beach during the organization’s 75th annual meeting.

Easter is an enthusiastic advocate for agriculture in South Carolina. She is actively involved throughout the Southeast with promotion efforts on behalf of the dairy industry. She also works closely with her local elected officials and the Laurens Chamber of Commerce where she recently served as Chamber President. Easter supports the mission of Farm Bureau and regularly contacts all her elected officials to keep them informed about agricultural issues.

The SCFB Government Relations All-Star awards are given annually as a means of recognizing member volunteers who go above and beyond to advance SCFB’s priority issues in the General Assembly. SCFB Legislator of the Year awards are also given annually recognizing a State Senator and Representative who support family farmers and rural lifestyles in South Carolina through key legislation. This year’s award winners were Representative Dennis Moss (R-Cherokee) and Senator Kent Williams (D-Marion).

South Carolina Farm Bureau is a grassroots, non-profit organization that celebrates and supports family farmers, locally grown food and our rural lands through legislative advocacy, education and community outreach.
