Amazingly enough, it is already April, Laurens County AGweek has come and gone. I am proud of our accomplishments so far. According to www.agday.org, “every year, producers, agricultural associations, corporations, universities, government agencies and countless others across America join together to recognize the contributions of agriculture. Ag Day is celebrated on March 20, 2018. National Ag Day falls during National Ag Week, March 18-24, 2018.” In 2018, the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce jumped on board! We helped celebrate the local agriculture community with Clemson Extension’s Spotlight on Agriculture (what a fun event), we launched our new www.laurenscountyagriculture.com website (check it out), we worked collaboratively with many in Laurens County, we highlighted our local farmers and we made connections and new friends.
For now, the official AGweek has passed, but we will continue to support our local agriculture and prepare for our future. The Annual Industry & Ag Tour will be held again in September and information will be coming soon. We hope you look forward to boarding the bus with us for a fun day.
Laurens County is a wonderful County to live, work and play in , whether you are from Ware Shoals, Cross Hill, Joanna, Hickory Tavern, Ora, Laurens, Clinton, or another community, we are all Laurens COUNTY and we ALL need each other to be successful. We hope everyone will work together to spread the love, to support local, and to take pride in all that we have to be proud of!
