4-Hers to the State House

South Carolina 4-Hers from across the state gathered at the State House on March 11th to show support for our 4-H program. Laurens County was well represented by 10 4-Hers and 5 volunteers. 4-Hers and volunteers had the opportunity to share their 4-H story with Senator Verdin, Representative Jones, and Representative Gilliam. The group was able to sit in on the House of Representatives and observe how decisions are made. Afterwards, the Laurens County delegation attended a ceremony on the State House steps. Dr. Dobbins, Director or Clemson Extension, spoke to the delegation about how important their 4-H experience is and to make sure that they are active and informed citizens in their community. We want to thank the Laurens County 4-H Volunteer Advisory Council for sponsoring the trip for our youth.
